Processes & Solutions

Our Forming Processes

Different geometries and material requirements dictate the forming method. We offer three primary thermoforming techniques.

01

Vacuum Forming

The most economical solution for single-sided parts. A heated sheet is pulled against a mold using vacuum pressure. Ideal for housings, trays, and liners.

02

Pressure Forming

Uses both vacuum and positive air pressure to force the plastic into the mold. This allows for sharper details, tighter radii, and textured surfaces, providing an aesthetic finish closer to injection molding.

03

Twin-Sheet Forming

Two sheets are heated and formed simultaneously, then fused together at the edges. This process creates hollow, rigid, double-walled parts, suitable for structural components and equipment housings.

Engineering Plastics

Supported Materials

We process a variety of engineering-grade thermoplastics. If you are uncertain which material suits your application—considering factors like impact resistance, chemical exposure, or UV stability—our engineering team can provide material recommendations based on your technical drawings.

ABS

High impact resistance, commonly used for housings and enclosures.

PC (Polycarbonate)

Excellent clarity and heat resistance for durable structural components.

PETG

High transparency, often used for medical and food-grade applications.

PMMA (Acrylic)

Superior optical clarity and UV stability for transparent exterior panels.

PVC

Durable and fire-retardant properties suitable for strict compliance requirements.

HDPE / PP

Chemical resistance and structural durability for demanding industrial parts.

End-to-End Delivery

Secondary Operations for Finished Parts

Thermoforming is rarely the final step. To deliver a ready-to-assemble component, Plasticpartsmfg integrates secondary operations in-house, reducing supply chain fragmentation and assembly overhead.

5-Axis CNC Trimming

Precise edge profiles and complex cutouts that standard die-cutting cannot handle.

Drilling & Bonding

Precision placement of holes for mounting and structural bonding for multi-part assemblies.

Custom Printing

Silk screening or labeling for branding, warnings, and user interfaces.

Assembly & Kitting

Sub-assembly services that minimize logistics management and line time at your plant.

Selection Criteria

When to Choose Vacuum Forming

Vacuum forming is the optimal manufacturing bridge between 3D printing and high-volume injection molding.

Tooling Budget is Limited

Thermoforming molds are significantly cheaper than injection molding tools, making it the preferred choice for volumes ranging from 50 to 5,000 units.

Part Size is Large

For parts exceeding 500mm, injection molding costs become prohibitive due to mold size and machine tonnage. Vacuum forming handles large surface areas efficiently.

Rapid Iteration is Required

We can produce molds and samples in weeks, not months, allowing for faster design validation before committing to steel tooling.

Quality Assurance

Quality Control and Inspection

We mitigate procurement risk through rigorous quality control procedures across every project milestone. Click each stage to inspect verification protocols.

Industry Versatility

Project Applications

We serve diverse industrial sectors requiring durable, custom plastic components.

Industrial Equipment

Protective covers, machine guards, and ergonomic control panels.

Automotive

Interior panels, ducting, chassis protection, and exterior trim components.

Medical & Lab Equipment

Equipment housings, precision trays, and sanitary ergonomic covers.

Electronics

Custom enclosures for instrumentation, testing consoles, and IoT devices.
