Engineering Focus

Technical Considerations for PVC Projects

PVC behaves differently than standard polyolefins like PE or PP. Its narrow processing window and chemical release under heat require dedicated tooling metallurgy and thermal regulation.

Process Note: Overheating PVC causes the formation of corrosive hydrochloric acid vapors. Our facility employs specialized vacuum extraction, corrosion-resistant barrels, and stainless runner systems to maintain steel integrity.
Because PVC releases hydrochloric acid vapors when overheated, standard P20 steels degrade rapidly. We utilize specialized, high-chromium, corrosion-resistant mold steels such as H13, NAK80, or S136, combined with specialized anti-corrosive surface coatings to prolong tool lifecycle and prevent cavity pitting.
