Low-Volume Vacuum Casting Services
Plasticpartsmfg provides professional vacuum casting services in Shenzhen, China. We specialize in producing high-quality plastic components for engineering validation, functional testing, and low-volume production runs, helping product development teams bridge the gap between initial prototyping and full-scale injection molding.
Technical Capabilities & Specifications
Vacuum casting is an effective solution for producing parts with complex geometries, consistent wall thickness, and high-quality surface finishes without the lead time or capital investment of steel tooling.
| Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Typical Quantity | 1 to 100+ pieces |
| Common Materials | ABS-like, PC-like, PP-like, Rubber-like (Shore A/D variations) |
| Lead Time | 5–15 business days (depending on complexity) |
| Max Part Size | Up to 800mm (subject to mold box dimensions) |
| Tolerance | Generally ±0.2mm or ±0.3% (depending on geometry) |
| Surface Finish | Matte, Glossy, Textured, or Painted to match requirements |
Why Choose Vacuum Casting for Low-Volume Production?
Vacuum casting is the optimal manufacturing process when your project requires more than a single prototype but is not yet ready for the high costs of hard-tooling injection molding.
Tooling Efficiency
We utilize silicone molds, which are significantly faster and more cost-effective to produce than aluminum or steel molds.
Material Versatility
We offer a wide range of polyurethane resins that simulate the physical properties of engineering plastics such as ABS, PC, and PP.
Design Iteration
Because the tooling cost is low, you can perform design refinements between batches without significant financial impact.
High Cosmetic Quality
The process produces parts with excellent detail reproduction, making it ideal for consumer electronics, housings, and aesthetic models.
Our Manufacturing Process
At Plasticpartsmfg, we follow a rigorous workflow to ensure your parts meet technical requirements:
Master Pattern Creation
We begin by producing a high-precision master pattern using high-resolution 3D printing (SLA/DLP) or CNC machining.
Silicone Mold Preparation
The master is suspended in a box, and liquid silicone is poured around it. Once cured, the mold is cut to extract the master.
Vacuum Casting
Resin is poured into the silicone mold under a vacuum chamber. This ensures air bubbles are removed, resulting in void-free parts.
Secondary Operations
Parts are cured, demolded, and finished according to your specifications, including painting, printing, or hardware assembly.
Typical Applications
We support engineering teams across various industries in bringing complex designs to market:
Product Development
Functional prototypes for fit, form, and testing.
Industrial Equipment
Enclosures, handles, and custom housings for automation machinery.
Consumer Electronics
Mock-ups and pre-production batches for user testing.
Medical Equipment
Non-clinical laboratory components and housing assemblies.
Automotive
Interior components and aesthetic design validation parts.
Material Selection
We use a variety of polyurethane resins to mimic the performance of production-grade thermoplastics. Whether you need the rigidity of ABS, the transparency of PC, or the flexibility of rubber-like materials, we select the appropriate resin based on your mechanical requirements, such as tensile strength, heat deflection temperature, and hardness.
Rigid & Impact Resistant
Offers balanced mechanical strength and thermal characteristics, suitable for functional enclosures, snap-fits, and structural prototypes.
Custom Shore A/D hardness and color matching (RAL/Pantone) available upon request.
